Malta Illustration Annual 2024 — Artworks Selected by the Judging Panel

We are pleased to share the list of artworks that will be published in this year’s Illustration Annual. The panel has chosen 66 beautiful illustrations (out of 138) by 44 super talented illustrators.

We would like to thank Fleur Sciortino, Philip Sultana and Steven Scicluna for taking the time to look at all the lovely work that the illustrators have sent in, and for choosing their top three illustrations. Like last year we thought we should make the judges’ favourite illustrations public, it’s nice to know your work is appreciated!

As always, we have tried to be as fair as we possibly could. Each illustration needed to be selected by two judges out of three, to make it in the Annual. If your work was not selected, it doesn’t necessarily mean it wasn’t good enough — sometimes a judge selects one of your works, another judge selects another, and this is unfortunately not enough for the work to be published.

While we know that difficult decisions must be made during the selection process, and that not every submission can be published, our aim remains to provide a platform that showcases the best work according to our judging panel, while also encouraging and supporting all Maltese illustrators.
