Malta Illustration Annual 2022 — selections are now public!
The entries that will be published in this year’s Illustration Annual have now been selected by our panel of distinguished judges! The panel of judges has chosen 62 beautiful illustrations by 47 super talented illustrators.
We would like to thank Katie Chappell, Mark Scicluna and Julian Mallia for taking the time to look at all the lovely work that the illustrators have sent in. The message was the same; that it is so tough to select and that the work is of a very high quality.
As always, we have tried to be as fair as we possibly could. Each illustration needed to be selected by two judges out of three, to make it in the Annual. If your work was not selected, it doesn’t mean it wasn’t good enough — sometimes a judge selects one of your works, another judge selects another, and this is unfortunately not enough for the work to be published. Our aim remains to showcase only the best work in an effort to properly document Maltese illustration.
We also asked our judges to tell us their favourite works, so we will announce the winners and their prizes shortly.
